The Tire Lot

One shop on Main Street, and a short list of things we will actually claim.

Most tire-shop about pages are a founding year, a family photo and a promise to treat you like family. We do not have those verified, so you will not find them here. Here is what is true.

What we can tell you

One location

3261 Main St, Chula Vista, CA 91911. One shop. No second branch, no franchise network, and the phone number on this site rings at the shop rather than at a call centre.

New and used tires

Those are the two things the shop has confirmed it does. New tires in the size, load index and speed rating your vehicle calls for, and used tires sold as singles, matched pairs and sets.

English and Spanish

Customers are served in both languages, and every page of this site exists in both. The Spanish here was written for Spanish speakers in Chula Vista, not run through a translator.

Used tires shown with their numbers

Tread depth measured in 32nds of an inch at several points across the tread, the DOT date code, the quantity, and whether it is one tire, a matched pair or a set. Photos are of the specific tire.

How a used tire gets listed

This is the part of the business that is easiest to be vague about, so it is the part we describe most precisely.

01

Measured, not estimated

Tread depth is read with a gauge in the main grooves at more than one point across the tread. The listing carries every reading, not a flattering average, because a tire that is 8/32 on one side and 4/32 on the other is telling you something.

02

Dated from the sidewall

The DOT Tire Identification Number is recorded and published. The last four digits are the week and year the tire was built, and we will read the code out loud for you if you ask.

03

Condition written down

Repairs, cosmetic damage and uneven wear are recorded per tire and shown on the listing. If a tire is close to the point where we would not sell it, the listing says so.

04

Fitment confirmed in person

A matching size is a starting point, not a guarantee. Load index, speed rating and your vehicle's door placard all matter, so fitment is confirmed at the shop before anything is installed.

What this page deliberately does not say

A few claims are missing on purpose. They are missing because they have not been verified, not because the answer is bad.

  • A founding year or how long the shop has been open
  • The owner's story, the team, or how many people work here
  • Customer testimonials or star ratings
  • Certifications, affiliations or awards
  • Brands carried, warranty terms, payment methods or price ranges

When the owner confirms any of these, it goes into the site's single source of business facts and appears here. Until then, silence beats a nice-sounding guess.

Se habla español

Chula Vista is a bilingual city and this is a bilingual shop. Ask your questions in whichever language you think in — about the size, the tread, the DOT date or the price. Nothing gets lost because of the language you asked it in.

The shop, photographed

These are the shop's own photos from its Instagram — the actual racks, the actual bay, the actual sign. No stock photography stands in for the business anywhere on this site.

Black and white view inside the shop: a wall of stacked tires with size labels, next to oversized truck tires on a concrete floor.
A black luxury sedan on a jack with the front wheel removed and the brake rotor exposed, tire racks and palm trees behind it.
Stacked off-road tires with aggressive mud-terrain tread, one showing its sidewall lettering.

The rest of it happens on the phone or on the lot.

Search by size to see what is listed, or call the shop and ask a person. Both work better than a paragraph about our values.
